Loretta Lynn joined the Opry family on 9/25/1962.

The largest shopping mall in Tennessee, world famous Opry Mills, which is located opposite the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, reopens March 24. The mall was completely destroyed during the extreme floods in May 2010 and the reconstruction was postponed by many month due to numerous disputes with insurance companies.

Billie Jo Spears passed away on December 14, 2011, aged 74. A popular country artist of the 70's was one of the brightest stars of the countrypolitan sound. She is best known for her smash hit "Blankets On The Ground".
